FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

Since january 2012, everytime i fill up the car with gas it cuts off coming out of the gas station, waiting at traffic lights, waiting in traffic, and even when driving on the highway. i am afraid to fill the tank. i have learned to circumvent this by not filling the tank. this is a major in. also, this is dangerous. i have had this happen to me at least 30 times before figuring out not to fill the tank since the mechanic is unable to duplicate the problem without being there when i fill the tank. this car looks good from far but it is far from good!! i have had nothing but problems with it.

After filling up gas tank to capacity, vechicle stalled after driving for approximately one mile because fuel flooded the engine. the vehicle restarted after several attempts but vehicle continued to stall after a mile. i took vehicle to an authorized dealer who stated that the fuel tank needed to be replaced.the fuel tank was replaced but i am still concerned that this problem could have caused a crash resulting in a lot of damage and possible death. the vehicle only had 26,100 miles.

After filling up gas tank to full (not overfilling - stop fueling once pump shuts off) and driving at slow speeds less than 5mph or at idle speed, car dies with no warning, engine light and oil light comes on. it takes several tries to re-start the car. engine dies approximately 4+ times until it runs fine. this happens periodically, not everytime car is fueled up. i fill up at 1/2 tank twice a week. this incident occurs periodically - about once month. i have had the car die as i am crossing busy intersections, turning into a side road enought times that i have blocked traffic and have fear of being t-boned because the car diees without warning in the middle of crossing a street or when making a turn.

The car will hesitate and stall unexpectedly. it seems to occur only immediately after refueling. after driving a few miles, the problem seems to go away. internet chatter seems to indicate a bad evap solenoid/canister. apparently this is part of the entire fuel tank and is a costly fix. this can be quite dangerous as the car will hesitate and stall even at highway speeds. it seems that this is a fairly common problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. the contact stated that shortly after refueling, the vehicle stalled while driving 5 mph. the contact was able to restart the vehicle, but it stalled again shortly thereafter. the contact stated that the failure would recur whenever added fuel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician performed an update to the vehicle but the failure persisted. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer but the technicians were unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not further repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 56,000. kmj

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c with a hemi engine. the contact stated she cannot fill her fuel tank to the full line with gasoline. after leaving the gas station and if the fuel tank was full the vehicle would shut off. sometimes the engine would restart right away but another time it will take over five minutes. the vehicle was taken to the dealer at least four times where they ran diagnostic tests and cannot duplicate the problem. the manufacturer was called stating she should contact nhtsa and file a complaint. the failure mileage was 51,000...mw

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. the contact stated that every time the vehicle is full all the way with gas the vehicle stalls four or five times until the gas level goes down. the dealer stated that the failure comes from a vent valve sensor inside the tank that is causing the problem and the tank would have to be replaced. the char coal canister would also need to be replaced because of the failure. the failure mileage was 30000 and the current mileage was 70000.rl

2006 chrysler 300c engine: 5.7 liter spmi engine shutting down anywhere from 0-40mph. it could occur with the air conditioning on, happening when turning left or right, which would bring the miles per hour below 40mpr. so actually whatever you would do to bring the speed limit below 40mph is of no real importance. the rest of the things would not be worth mentioning because anything you did to bring the miles per hour below 40 is all that is important (it even would stop at a stop sign). if it was safe to accelerate you could stop the shut down. it never stopped or tried to stop at high speeds. common denominator on engine shutdown appeared to be a full tank of gas or relatively full tank of gas. problem started prior to october 2008 before taking to dealer to diagnose (final repair done june 27, 2009). multiple diagnostics later the problem appears fixed; using a

A hole got punched in my fuel tank on my 2006 chrysler 300c when it was being driven down a paved highway and the driver did not hear anything that was hit on the roadway to cause this much damage. the dealer states it is a road hazard and i contest this ruling and think the fuel tank is substandard if it fails this easily. this is a major concern with the safety of operating this vehicle in the future. please advise how to continue with my contesting this ruling by the dealer since it is costing me around $1,000.00 plus rental auto costs to get this issue corrected with a new fuel tank. i think this should not ever happen on a paved highway and should not be at my expense since the fuel tank was not constructed with sufficient strength to protect me and my family. *tr
