| I bought my 2006 300c 9/2/2011 exactly a week later it was back at the dealship its stalling for no reason. every month oct, nov, dec, jan, feb, march, etc it has been back to the shop for the same exact problem and its not fixed because they don't know what is causing it. when i took it in march/2012 we almost go hit by a truck and trailer going 75 mph on the interstate because it stalled on me. i have three little kids and this is dangerous. i googled searched and there is hundreds of ppl having the same problem but no mechanic is able to tell them the problem. this issue needs a recall and soon... | |||

| Went to drive vehicle to a meeting, tried placing the shifter into reverse, shifter wouldn't move. talked to several ase mechanics whom told me that they have had numerous vehicles with this same problem. they also told me that chyrsler should have had a recall on this common problem by now. | |||

| Unable to shift out of park. dealer replaced entire shifter assembly because small pink plastic shift interlock latch was broken. part: $167.50, labor: $198.00, total: $365.45 service manager said the shift interlock latch isn't sold separately! it is well established that this is a faulty engineering design. there are multiple internet postings of the problem. many have done diy repairs with a metal replacement part. i feel this should have been a recall or in the very least covered as a manufacturing defect whenever the part breaks. to top it off...the replacement is also plastic! | |||

| I purchased this 2006 chrysler 300c in december 2010. i got a carfax report and there wasn't any problems reported on it. well june 2011 the shift gears got stuck in park and i couldn't shift it down. so my husband sprayed some wd40 on the shift gears and shook the shifter and push the pink thingy thing in and it then it shifted down into drive. then in september 2011 the shift gears got stuck again and this time the shifter wouldn't shift into park. i was frustrated so i look on the internet about the shift gears on these cars and it was over 100 complaints about the shift gears gettin stuck. so i called chrysler and inform them about this matter. they did have it fix by a chrysler dealership but i hope that i don't have this problem again. if i had known that chrysler 300 had a shift gear mechanism defect i wouldn't of never bought this car... | |||

| My 2006 chrysler 300c would not shift out of the park position. i drove it to work that morning with no problems and parked in the parking lot, when i came out to leave after work, it started fine, and as i started to back out of my parking space, the gear shift would not move. i tried moving the steering wheel, shutting the car off and on, and had someone to rock the vehicle with no response. i called a friend and he came over to help me, and could not get it to move either. we went back to his shop and googled it and found that it is a common problem with 300's, avengers, and one other model i cant remember. all you have to type in is chrysler 300 stuck in park, and you get alot of replies. he read how they had taken the console apart and moved a release lever. we tried that and it didn't work. we then had to use a screwdriver and move a pink thingy to get it to release. i am able to drive the car, but i cannot use p (park) because it locks again. i am using neutral and my emergency brake to keep the car from rolling away. i talked with chrysler and they said some models had been recalled but not unless they had already been replaced before. mine is the shifter from the factory and is not included in the previous recall. | |||

| Due to substandard design, the material used to insure proper gear shifting fails. after much research, it appears to be common. the cost of repair and towing does not seem fair when the problem is so common. | |||

| In dec 09 my car began to stall at low speeds such as approaching lights and making turns. i took it into my local dealer that has performed all work on my car and they said it was a computer update. in june 2010 my car started doing the same thing - cutting off at slow speeds and making turns. i took it in once again and they could not reproduce the problem so they had no fix for it. i researched through forums and found many other chrysler 300 owners that complain of the same issue, yet no one seems to know what is causing it. at that point i went to the service manager because i just could not drive my car away knowing the dangers of it stalling in traffic and not cranking. he made some calls after looking at the information that i had found in my research and decided to change the ignition coils to see if that may alleviate the problem. i picked my car up approximately the end of june 2010 after 2 weeks of being in the shop and being advised that the problem may not be resolved as they didnt know what the issue was exactly and although my warranty expires in july, they would still honor it if the stalling occurs again. on aug 24,2010 it stalled once again at an intersection and would not crank back up this time. i had it pushed out of the line of traffic and towed to the dealer once again - warranty expired this time of course - they are now saying it cannot be the same issue because this time it did not crank back up, which i am working with chrysler on this issue, but, something has to be done to make chrysler find the issue that is causing this stalling as it can become a tragedy if it should stall in the line of traffic and after all the research i did - its obvious that it is a problem with at least this make and model because i found many who complained of the exact same thing with no one being able to explain why it is happens or any remedy to fix it. i cannot understand why chrysler is not making this more public considering the dangers of it. | |||

| The hood feel on my head nearly knocking me out. the struts designed to keep it open failed to keep it open and it came crashing down. | |||

| On may 6, 2010 reported to chrysler that the hood of my 2006 300c would not stay in a up right position. current mileage at time of report 32,000. when i first raised hood, it stayed up right for a moment and than came crashing down on my head. i raised hood again and found that hood would only stay in up right position for a moment and then crash down to the close position. the struts that hold hood up right have to be replaced and chrysler offer to replace for $50.00. i find this offer unacceptable. with only 32,000 miles on car, i figure hood is only open approx. 11 times for car maintenance. with hood crashing down sudden can cause serious injury to head, back, hands and other body parts. i consider this a very unsafe condition and a recall shoud be put in place and struts replaced at no charge to customer. | |||
