 When the consumer was in stop and go traffic, the vehicle cut off. the consumer had to wait approximately 20 minutes or so, to start the vehicle again. the dealer/mechanic stated the transmission showed signs of failure, also when the vehicle was started, it failed to leave first gear, which resulted in the vehicle being driven in first gear, however after the vehicle was parked for awhile, the vehicle ran perfect. *jb

 I was pussing on the gas to heat up the engine, while my foot on the gas pedal the gear changed from park to reverse, thank god there was no one behind the car because it moved in reverse direction like a rocket from the drive way to the street to hit another standing car and moved off the street. other than body damage the engine didn't work after the accedent and i had to replace it and until now since 4/2000 i'm fixing things related to the engine because it was used. right now i can change from park to reverse without pushing any where! not even on the brakes! i think what happend wasn't fair to me and i was lucky enough because i didn't cause any death or enjury to anyone. emad.thx. *ak

 Original transmission would not shift when weather was below 25 degrees. took car into dealer for warranty work each winter. they always said the could not find anything wrong. it would work until the next winter. finally filed a complaint with state of colorado and transmission was replaced. now the new transmission (2 years and 22,000 miles later) will not go into gear after sitting for a couple of days. air conditioning doesn't work every other summer. dealer says there is nothing wrong. services ac and it works that summer. all warranties exhausted and still having problems.*ak

 There is a vibration when accelerating which becomes worse nearing highway speeds. the condition persists after replacing the powertrain mount and resecuring the harmonic balancer on another visit. i test drove the vehicle with the shop foreman and now the transmission assembly (shaft bearing) requiring a complete replacement and two axle shafts which exibit excessive wear. the problem that i complained of earlier when the vehicle was covered by the used car warrenty by 100% minus a $50 deductable and documented will now cost an estimated $2400 dollars at my expense. i will pursue legal action if necessary. *ak

 Intermittently when accelerating to pass another vehicle transmission downshifts. when letting off the accelerator, transmission shifts up. vehicle surges and stalls. also, crank sensor was replaced last week, but the problem came back. problem was reported to the dealership. problem seems to be related to recall campaign 94v024000. please provide any further information.*ak

 Throughout the last 3 months we have noticed that our cars transmission has been acting up. it has been shuddering everytime it shifts from 1st to second gear and from 3rd to od. it also has slammed into gear occasionally. we are very concerned for several reasons. one is obviously the safety of my wife and children in this car because this is her car and they are usually with her. also, we are very upset with the manufacturer because this car only has 64000 miles on it. this transmission should not be breaking this early. we take extremely good care of our vehicles and want to insure the safety of its occupants. thank you. *ak

 This car had a bumper to bumper 60,000 mile warranty - transmission and air conditioning should have been covered 100% i did not purchase this vehicle from vandynhoven's only had it serviced through them. they are reimbursing me 50% on the airconditioning because chrysler has agreed to pay 50% but i feel that the evaporator core was warranteed up to 70,000 miles and now i'm at 71,700 and they aren't covering it in full. the car was brought in at least 2 times while under warranty with air problems ? same with the transmission - it was brought in on several occations where it should have been fully covered and i had to pay $750.00 the intake manifold was leaking on 10/04/99 *ak

 Nhtsa recall 99v215000 and manufacturer's recall 837/ engine cradle. consumer took vehicle to hershberger motorsto remedy failed part. then consumer took car to another dealer, beaverton chrysler plymouth, which noticed that the torque converter was done incorrectly. consumer continued to hear noises, and felt that transmission was trying to disengage. *ak

 Engine stalls without notice. this is the third time it has happened on the interstate in traffic and could cause an accident. there is no indicatio that it is going to stall. the first sign of a problem is when i press the accelerator pedal there is no response and the oil indicator light comes on . there is also a problem with the transmission not engaging in reverse and low in the the first time i go to drive it in that day. it takes about 2 minutes before i can get it to engage. when driving after the transmission is warmed up, there is some hesitation when accelerating. also the headlights are very dim when driving at night. the hood lift assist cylinders do not function allowing the hood to drop without notice. i was struck in the head twice while checking fluids.*ak

 Car goes into limp mode at different times of year in different driving conditions after different driving periods. most times it resets after stopping and turning car off. seems to occur when car is first started or after long driving period. have lost power to wheels during driving. was questioned by a stranger in a parking lot who indicated they have same type of car with same problem with transmission. initial inspection by dealer indicated no abnormal information from computerized check up. seems to be common with car make and model. suspect design defect.

 My 1994 chrysler lhs's transmission failed at 43,000 miles. the car would reach 35 mph per hours and would experience a racing motor and an inability to shift into the next gear. as i drove the car i experienced slipping of the gears and when i brought the car in for repairs it was undrivable. i contacted chrysler about this problem. this issue has yet to be resolved with chrysler since i did not get the car repaired at a chrysler dealership. i feel safety is at stake with a faulty transmission that fails at 43,000miles.

 Our traction controll went out in december of 1997 and then our abs went out. after the dealer made repairs under warranty our car never seemed to run the same again. very sluggish and the transmission appeared to slip at times. took it back in march 1997 and was told there was a problem with a electrical module for the abs. never were told of a recall. after that the card got terrible fule mileage and the transmission started to lock in second gear at times. when you turn the car off and re start it would be fine. we out it back in the shop three more times before i finally got it to lock into second gear and i drove it to the shop. the problem was fixed but we are still getting very bad fuel mileage. had the fuel rail fixed for a leak on recall but still having bad fuel mileage. the transmission is still acting up. we are taking it back in again but the dealer doesn't feel there is a problem. when the dealer was repairing the fule rail they told us that they blew out a piston. had to leave the car to rebuild the engine. dealer did give us a rental car and have been very good to us. this car has too many problems and will be sold, no more chryslers in this family.

 The gears of the vehicle locked up, the vehicle (unmanned) moved down the driveway hitting small trees causing undercarriage damage. consumer refused to drive an unsafe vehicle due to recalls and problems, consumer left vehicle parked at dealership for over a year, when driving vehicle after it had sat for a long period of time, it stalled while stopped at a stop sign, consumer was able to restart with no problems, serpentine belt came loose, black smoke coming from under the hood. vehicle experienced a tire vibration between 40 and 65 mph. turn signals did not work. transmission experienced vibration in the 2-3 upshift, a drbiii test was performed and code 48 came up, this code indicates a problem between the transmission control module and the power train module under heavy acceleration. vehicle experienced high accereration across a busy intersection. *slc

 We have had numerous problems with the 94 chrysler. the antenna is inoperable, the third brake light is inoperable, the driver's seat is inoperable, the gas light jumps up & down all the time. the abs/trac off light stays on all the time, the driver side mirror does not go down. i know that all these problems are not just with my vehicle. i have talked to other owners of chryslers and they are having similar problems....please advise me what i can do about this

 This is the second 1994 lhs i've had, and the same problems have occured on both cars.someone needs to listen to complaints before there is a loss of someones life. which i came very close to the racket pinion and tie rod.another few miles and we might not be here today.there is also problems with the heater and ac not working,cant shut it off,turn it on change it fromheat to ac.hood problems. timing belt.so many things have went wrong with both these cars and they both were 1994 ch-lhs.dont have the dates in front of me when all the things happened.i had trouble with this car 3 days after i bought it. and the last one i put money into it one time after another another,someone hit it and it was totaled out.i will never own another. any chrysler .thought i was getting a nice car,got 2 lemons.just think they need to be checked out before someone is hurt.

 In july 2004, i purchased a used '94 chrysler lhs w/95,000 miles in very good condition (exterior/interior) but within the first few weeks i experienced electrical problems (electric current not going to gauges, gauges going haywire), transmission problems (periodic 'limp mode', car erratically surging) and steering problems (rack 7 pinion, inner/outer tie rods). within a few months i replaced the inner/outer tie rods and front/rear stabilizer links that all improved my front suspension. just recently about a month ago, i had my local dodge dealer replace one broken transmission mount ($305) then the following week at 124,500 miles while driving to work on my local highway my transmission failed, which resulted in loss of power steering and loss of drive gears, i was able to exit safely onto my jobs parking lot before it finally gave out. i had it towed to an exclusive auto transmission shop, they had to rebuild/overhaul the transmission and torque converter ($1,800). a whopping $2,100 in repairs in about a month. there went my christmas money. *jb
