The driver's side seatbelt twisted on the spool and will not retract. because the car is a convertible the seatbelt unit is located in the seat. there is no way to get at the seatbelt unit to unjam the spool. the seatbelt is unuseable. i called the dealership where i purchased the car and they told me they can't repair seatbelts they must be replaced and it will cost me $345.00. the seat must be removed in order to get to the seatbelt unit. i live in ny, with a mandatory seat belt law. i can not afford $345.00 at this time. i don't understand how a seatbelt design does not allow for the possibility that the belt will twist and jam upon retracting. i am having the same problem with the passenger side, however i have been fortunate enough that i have caught it before it jammed. shouldn't a thing like a seatbelt have a warranty for the life of the car, especially in a convertible? *ak
