Like many others, i had to pull the fuse for my horn, disabling my air bag because the horn kept going off. why hasn't it been recalled? *tr

Several times over the last few month the horn just randomly goes off in a long blast. it will continue untill you beat and bang on the steering wheel and column.

Car alarm or horn will go off in the morning when its wet/damp whenever i unlock with clicker or manually with a key. it will go off for about 30 seconds then shut off. only until recently did the horn start going off while driving in the morning for 20-30second spurts. this would happen on freeways and residential roads. had to disconnect the horn relay which i understand is also associated with the airbag to stop the honking. i do not feel comfortable driving without an airbag but that is the only short-time solution i have. i also understand to fix it is well over 1000 dollars and even then is not a permanent fix.

I own a 2006 chrysler sebring, the horn goes off on its own and i have to pull the fuse to get it to stop. there is no tsb or recall for this but it is a common problem.

Over the course of a year the horn would sound at any time on its own, would not stop without extreme force on the button; dealership states a full airbag assembly has to be purchased at a cost of over $600.00, because the horn button is attached to the airbag.

My 2006 sebring is having horn problems again. in august of 2007, i had it in the dealer to do a warranty fix on the air bag module, which was causing my horn to sound at odd times and prolonged durations. now, in april of 2009 the problem has returned. this time there is no warranty coverage and the price to fix is ridiculously high. i have searched online and have found this problem to be very common with chrysler vehicles. i think chrysler should issue a recall on affected vehicles. a working horn is a safety requirement in many states. my state inspection is due by the end of this month and i have to have it fixed in order to legally drive in texas. *tr

45,000 miles on my 2006 sebring and the horn starts blowing for no reason on january 1, 2009. the horn has blown sitting in garage, parking lot, driveway & while driving in traffic. i would say it was doing it about every other day, sometimes twice a day. it will not shut off, must keep hitting & pounding on steering pad to get it to stop. finally had to disconnect the horn. i didn't want to get stuck somewhere with a dead battery or worse, get in an accident trying to get that horn to shut off. so now i'm driving without a horn, also not safe. i can still hear a clicking sound in the steering pad while driving, just like i heard when fighting to get the horn to stop. i have contacted my local dealer service department to see it this is covered under my warranty but of course they won't tell me that without running a $120 diagnostic, i told them i will not pay for diagnostics because all they need to do is contact chrysler to find out what the problem it. check the internet, mine is not the only sebring with this problem. the other problem with this is that the airbag is intertwined with the horn problem and so fixing this problem runs in the area of $1,000.00. *tr

The horn in my 2006 chrysler sebring goes off constantly. i have been told it iis a defective horn assembly and i have to replace the entire steering wheel cover and airbag at a cost of $630 for the part plus labor. my car is only 2 years old and i have 44,000 on the car. there have been numerous complaints about this and chrysler will do nothing to help me. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chrysler sebring. the horn has not been working ever since the vehicle was purchased. the dealer stated that a sensor light was illuminated due to a defect with the air bag; therefore, they replaced the air bag. the vehicle has been to the dealer four times for this failure. while driving at an unknown speed, the horn suddenly sounded and the contact could not make it stop. she has also experienced squealing, squeaking, and clunking noises when the brake pedal was depressed. the dealer replaced all four rotors and pads, but the brake failure has recurred. the vehicle may also be leaking brake fluid. now that the vehicle has reached the 3 month or 3,000 mile limited warranty end date, the dealer will no longer provide repair services. the failure mileage was 65,000 and current mileage was 66,700.
