| I have a 1992 dodge grand caravan mini van. front wheel drive with a 3.3 engine. every time the serpentine belt gets the slightest amount of moisture on it...it comes off! at least once a month which requires paying a pro to reinstall it. the biggest problem is that one loses all power steering not mention all functions controlled by the belt! the last time this happened to me was in rain on a busy two lane highway and i almost flipped the van! it happens without warning and with immediate loss of power steering. i have relocated the tensioner and pulley assembly with no satisfaction. the problem is that chrysler designed these mini vans with no shields installed to turn moisture from the entire pulley system (top or bottom) and the pulleys have no 'lip' to hold the belt in place allowing it to slide off when wet! is there no way chrysler can be forced to install an oem product or shield to prevent this and save lives? this is a very common problem in all chrysler mini vans from apprx. 1992-2007. *tr | |||

| Bad paint its peeling flakeing the wood grain too faiding bad trans i just paid a dealership over 2 grand for a new one warranteed for only 3 years or 36,000 miles. bad power windows cable broke=over $400.= me gettingscrewd bad lug nuts little metal caps over lugnuts come off and then tire tool dosent fit so you end up at the dealership getting them cut off. keeps stalling headliner falling down headlights are totally yellow at night you cant see more than 50 feet on low beams so you have to have high beams on just to get low beam quality. breaks new rotors, mastercillender, hardwear, drums, shoes, pads, fluid, mastercillender caps, weel cillenders,= over $500. to the dealer and me and my fam stranded on the roadside for 4 houres getting recalled parts fitted only takes an act of congress and about three days with out a car unless they give you there "loaner" loaner=car no one would but twelve years ago. james reynolds sharon tenn gooberclese@hotmail.com owner of a 92 dodge grand caravan le | |||

| Vehicle is experiencing a hard brake pedal condition where excessive force has to be applied to brake pedal in order to activate brake system. also, abs light on the instrument panel is illuminated. dealership has examined vehicle but could not reproduce the problem. note: vehicle was serviced for recall campaign 96v099000 in 1996.*ak also serpentine belt, and thermostat was replaced.*slc | |||

| My 1992 dodge grand caravan le coolant fan failed and the relay did not interupt which continued to feed power back to the fuse panel which in return caused my wiring harness to ignite into flames under the hood right over the left strut ! *ak | |||

| Purchased van 1998; 1st failure feb. 26, 1998 abs brake failure; mileage 65,928; replaced pump and motor assembly; 2nd brake failure july 1998; mileage 75,991; replaced accurator piston and piston package; 3rd brake failure may 25, 1999; mileage 87,880; replaced module abs control asssembly,module ecu; 4th brake failure sept 23, 2000 and no repair so far due to beyond 100,000 mile extended hidden factory warranty and no confidence in it being effectively repaired. | |||

| Driver's side seatbelt retractor is stuck and will not come apart. also, transmission failed without prior warning. this was the sixth transmission.*ak after transmission was replaced, the engine began to stall. gas gauge failed. dashboard light shortened out. speedometer failed and had to be replaced 4 times. transmission not shifting properly. front end vibrates especially when turning. brakes are grinding. rear view mirror fell off. high mount brake light shortened out. side window and door rattling. rear wiper failed. muffler needs to be replaced. exhaust smell in van. engine overheating. air conditioner failed. vehicle pulls. consumer is requesting reimbursement. *tt | |||

| The belt comes off while driving in wet weather. water less than 1/8 inch deep can result from splash of passing vehicle. this has occurred more than 20 times, and dealer repairs attempted 3 times. it occurs so ofter that i have become proficient in replacing the belt. luckily no one has been injured thus far. my wife and three sons were very nearly in collision with a tractor trailer on the interstate(64) when the belt came off causing her to loose power steering, power brakes, climate control, and eventually all electrical power. since then, she is terrified of driving the van when rain is forcasted.*ak | |||
