| My husband was rear-ended by a car at approximately 30mph in our 1992 dodge grand caravan. the back of the drivers seat collapsed. fortunately he was not hurt, but he could easily have lost control of the vehicle. also, if our 8 year old child had been with him, she would have been riding in the seat directly behind the driver and could have been severly injured. | |||

| The 2nd & 3rd row seats are self releasing. seats would pivot forward. when latched or locked would release the entire seat. this would cause the seat to be unstable & the occupants shifting around.*ak | |||

| The driver's side seat mount broke in two places. this causes the driver to be dumped forward into the steering column. the bottom point of the seat belt is also fastened to the mounting tower thus it will not restrain the driver from being propelled forward. the person who welded these breaks stated that he had done this to several of these vehicles. the break was, in actuality, a stress fracture at two points where the tower is bolted to the vehicle floor. welds did not entirely ho;d and had to be re-welded. replacing the tower with a new, unstressed design would have been the best solution but chrysler would not do this. they did however pay for the welding! | |||
| Harness straps on the integrated child safety seat no longer function. the locking mechanism no longer locks the harness straps in place. the problem has been reported to the dealership. parts are not available to correct the problem with the seat. the bench seat will have to be replaced to correct the problem. please provide any further details. *ak | |||

| While sitting in the driver's seat seatback snapped and then collapsed onto the rear seat. this happened while i was simply reaching into my front pocket for my keys. i was not injured and feel very fortunate that my children were not in the back seat at the time the seat failed. i went to white bear dodge and talked to the service manager. he said that chrysler does not supply parts for seats, and that a new seat would not be available for my vehicle. i believe that this is a safety related defect that the manufacturer must fix, and i need to know how to proceed. *ak | |||
