No recall for defective transmissions? bought 2007 acadiar used, 2600 miles /felt transmission problems early on. very noticeable jerk at 40mph. in and out of dealership since. last few months car has been in to dealer frequently re car bucking at stop lights really rough thought engine going to die. every time nothing showed in codes, emergency trip to doctor/heavy traffic main artery/can't get over 20mph/engine screaming/ make it to dr. (omg) towed to dealership. transmission gone. i could have had a serious accident. finally heard something about a wave plate. for 5 yrs i've said something wrong. no one said these were constant problems with acadias. they issued recalls for a leak in the sun roof. no recall for defective transmissions? known defective wave plates? i have extended warranty, but many don't. warranty or not, this safety hazard should be fixed by gmc at their expence. a recall is mandated. just ask the owners. . .

Vehicle has been serviced 4 times for water leak that dealer can not find. water that has leaked inside has caused a malfunction in the fuse block. this caused all lights, including headlights to flicker and guages to read wrong information. very dangerous and distracting when driving. could lead to more serious electrical problems if water continues to leak in.

Basically bottom line is this is the 4th major thing ive had my acadia in the shop for. this repair of a rebuilt tranmission is costing me 3500.00 out of my pocket. supposedly the gm customer rep does not think there is anything they can do for me because my car is 5 years old and 131000 miles.. that is just bs!!!!! i spent 40,000.00 on this car to drive it longer than this and for all the things to start nickel and diming me is ridiculious. the mechanic at the gm certified garage told me that gm used a prt in the transmission on the 07-10 models of the acadia that cost them 1.69 and that they know they should have used a part that cost them 39.00, so this is the part that is breaking in the transmissions and making them junk and having to be rebuilt or new ones put it.. gm didnt want to recall the 07-10 models because it would have affected miilions of cars, so they are just letting the owners suffer for their stupidity and lack of repsonsibilty. my biggest complaint after the money is the fact the my child was driving my vehicle when this happened, he was paniced as he could not go over 30mph on a very busy road and the vehicle started to shut down on him!! he is very lucky the vehicle made it to a safe place and he was not rear ended as the car just stopped on him!!! really gm when are you going to recall these models and make it right for all of us that have to encounter such a high expense?? i really can not afford another vehicle or the $3500.00 to repair this one, but that is my only choice!!!!

My transmission has to be replaced at 131,000 miles and a cost of over $3400.00 out of my pocket. well here i am again... this is the third major thing that has happened to my 2007 acadia.. i had to have all new timing chains put on 103,000 miles, had to have my service tire sensor fixed at 112,000 miles, i have done all the re-calls for the sun-roof leak, the heated windshield fluid, and whatever else hs been re-called on this vehicle!!! my 17 year old son was driving my car in heavy traffic on a majoy highway when the car just stopped and then he could only get it to go 30 mph. he is lucky he was not rear ended. i took it to the dealer, it will not go over 30 mph and reverse. i spoke with the head mechanic at the gm garage that is putting a new transmission in my acadia at the cost of 3400.00 to me, and he told me that all the 2007-2010 acadia's have a part in the transmission that cost gm $1.69 instead of using the part they should have used that would have cost them $39.00. he said gm know they should have recalled all the 2070-2010 acadia's but chose not too because it would have been millions of vehicles involved, so instead thank you gm for screwing all of us and now we have to pay for your mistake and cut backs....

While driving on the interstate, i had to brake quickly because of accident ahead. at this time, the stabilitrak service message and brake message started alternately flashing on dic. brake and stabilitrak warning lights also came on.the car decelerated like when you shift down on a manual transmission when i tried to accelerate again, no repsonse.tried turning stabilitrak button back on and off, but this did nothing. after a few seconds the car started to accelerate, the engine light came on.i was in heavy traffic and was difficult to get over to shoulder. i had about 10 miles to get to my house, so watched the engine temp gauge, and made it home. engine light remained lit.the engine gauge indicated the car

I purchased my 2007 gmc acadia in april 2011 used from carmax. on may 6, 2011, i had in bring it in because i noticed water and loud wind noise. they had told me that the gasket seal on the sunroof had to be replaced because that is where the water was leaking from into the headliner and into my car. after that i still had the same issues but had no time to bring it to get fixed. the water has leaked from the moonroof area, from the reading light on the third row, from front diver and passenger door airbags, from the passenger seatbelt area, and from the headliner above the middle row. on july 7, 2012 the leaking happened again so i called gm. they said that the recall or customer satisfaction drain tube extenders were done on 2-9-09 at 26,139 miles and that the tubes may be clogged. i was told i should take it in to a gmc dealership to see what the problem was. i took it in on july 12, 2012 and was told that it was the sunroof gasket that needed to be changed and that the tubes were not clogged. they could see where it was coming from the seal. so it cost me 240.00 to have that fixed and gm said they would not help pay because the issue had been resolved with the drain tube extenders. i got my vehicle back on july 16, 2012 the gm district specialist asked me if i was satisfied with the work and i told him i was not sure because it had not rained again yet. well, on july 19, 2012 it rain and the 240.00 i paid to the have problem fixed by replacing the sunroof gasket seal still has not fixed the problem.this is very disappointing and not safe because of the electrical and airbags that are getting wet with water. will my airbags work in an accident since they have had water coming from where it says airbag! *tr

Water leaking from front passenger seatbelt in heavy rain. this is also the same are where an airbag is located. the airbag symbol actually has water leaking from it.

The vehicle leaks water on both the right and left floor boards and appears to be also coming down the back of the front dash. this occurs in light rain up to severe rain. it has been dealer repaired (sealed and gasket material applied) and that seamed to work the first time for a while and now it is leaking in the same place again.

I bought a 2007 gmc acadia brand new. recently have been having serious water leaks on passenger side. the areas are the seatbelt area and near the floorboard. this happens everytime it rains and happens rather quickly in the floorboard area. several towels get soaked within an hour. my family and i are dependent on this vehicle to get us to school and work. feeling very unsure of purchasing from gm again due to the fact i've read so many other complaints and no action being taken on their part. my young children and i did love this vehicle but now are scared to go out anywhere when it is raining.

I purchased a 2007 gnc acadia slt-2 and i have now experiened 3 water leaks inside the vihicle due to drain tubes clogging. the car fills up with water on the driver and passenger side floors. i was told before i bought the car that drain tube extensions were installed but this has not corrected the problem it is unbeleivable to think that gmc is selling a forty thousand dollar car with these design isssues. just paid dealer $ 100.00 to fix the last time it happened. ahow long before i am swimming in my car again? mold issues maybe.

2008 saturn outlook (same as gmc acadia, buick enclave and chevy traverse) the headlamp wiring harness as designed is likely and does got so hot that the wiring clip to the bulb burns/scorches. it renders the headlamp very intermittent and then fails. the gm p/n is 20858015. it is a $49 part ... and a $200+ install due to the ridiculous complexity of getting to the headlamp and that it goes back into the car. recall is very much necessary.
