Dt*: the contact stated while driving 20 mph the driver side rear door flew open and would not close. the independent repair shop determined there was corrosion on the door latch from road salt build up. the door latch was replaced. the passenger side rear door required more force to open. there is a nhtsa recall, # 05v494000, regarding the door latches. the vehicle had the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the vin. updated 3/3/2006 - *nm

The first time the wind noise became such an issue is when the car had only a few thousand miles on it and i was driving on an interstate with a stiff cross wind. the noise was so loud that when i tried to use the onstar to call the dealer and have him listen to the noise, the onstar kept saying slower please, slower please even though i wasnt yet speaking. it was the wind the onstar was listening to. i have visited the dealer in moorehead several times and the gmc place in minot to try to stop the noise and the have reduced the wind noise but i still get an unacceptable level of noise. i have to take a vacation day to take the vehicle into the dealer 90 miles away and then even tho i know they are trying, they just seem to move the noise around. a car that windows for almost 40k should be at least as quiet as my daughter 6 year old neon. wouldn't you say? i believe that this vehicle will never be quiet unless you are traveling less than 30 mph down the road and with the wind. i have visited the dealer ship at least 4 times for this specific problem and they have replaced windo seals and liners as well as bending the doors but i am not satisfied. they say i am an isolated complaint but in the small town i live in there is only one other 2003 envoy and the owner says her noise is even worse. after 2 1/2 years and 18000 miles how much more should i have to endure?*ak

A persistent high pitched rattle at various speeds. almost sounds like front suspension problem. after months of searching by accident discovered it was the front hood latch. greased it and problem has subsided. neighbor with 2003 chevrolet trail blazer had the same problem. *jb
