Defect SummaryVehicle description: light duty pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. these vehicles do not comply with the occupant protection requirements of fmvss no. 208, occupant crash protection.
Consequence SummaryIn the event of a vehicle crash, the right front passenger restraint systems may not meet the neck extension requirements.
Corrective SummaryDealers will install a tray insert on the top of the passenger side of the instrument panel. the tray insert corrects the noncompliance.

 Rear passenger seatbelt which bolts to floor frame came off, would not protect an occupant in event of a crash. also center rear seat adjuster broke in pieces which did not hold the css in place which in event of a crash. css would not be properly installed. please provide further information. *ak

 Vehicle was cut off by another vehicle. had to apply brakes (abs) quickly, which failed to work. vehicle then dove into concrete cover. upon impact, the dual air bags failed to deploy. the seat belt jerked hard on driver, causing bruises. gmc file number 99-153-17801. *ak
