| I own a 2001 gmc yukon and this is the second time the abs module has failed on it. after it fails, the motor continues to run. not only do you not have abs, but the motor heats up. if you don't notice it right away, it will drain your battery, leave you stranded, or worse. | |||
| 08/10/2005 | 3 | ||
| Dt: the contact was slowing down to come to a stop and the abs light and parking light came on. he increased his stopping distance in order to get the vehicle to come to a stop. took the vehicle to the dealer; they hooked it up to a diagnostic machine. the dealer stated it needed a new electronic box. there was no free remedy to fix the box. the seat belt on the passenger's side in the second row of the vehicle locked in the buckle, other times it will come loose while in the seat belt. also when turning the vehicle to the right or left one could hear a clicking sound. the dealer was not willing to fix it free of charge. *ak | |||

| Original equipment acdelco battery positive terminal corroded and fell off with no prior warning. no visible signs. failure can occur at any time, with vehicle either running or parked, and at any location. repair is a battery replacement and repair of acid-damaged parts located under the battery. i've since learned that this failure is common knowledge of gm repair centers and other gm suv vehicle owners.*ak | |||

| Headlights just go off on low beam will work only on high beam. sometimes they work and then at other times they go off. took to local dealership in brandon mississippi, could not reproduce, however got stranded wouldn't crank at 23900 miles, boosted, took to dealership, gauges were clicking and jumping battery was replaced under warranty but i am afraid this is not the end of this problem. we have had three gmc's with previous battery problems while under warranty. dt | |||

| For at least three months the dim headlights would go out and only the high beam lights would work we took the truck in they could not duplicate. then the truck stalled at 23500 miles and it was taken in and a new battery was put in under warranty. this is the third gmc vehicle we have had with battery problems. we also have a 1999 suburban that has had three batteries installed. we do not know at this point if the new battery will correct the headlight problem but will certainly return to dealer if not. i would like to know if there are other owners experience the same electrical/shortage problems? dt | |||
