 Transmission fails to engage drive unless placed into reverse. when stuck in drive, pushing on the accelerating will cause car to move forward slowly, until their is a loud violent sound from the rear of the vehicle ar which point the vehicle will engage drive and proceed in a sluggish fashion. the vehicle has been at the dealer who had investigated and fixed the problem since november 2005 and the problem persists today (2-7-2006). the problem presented itself after the dealership flushed and changed the transmission fluid at approximately 53000 miles (the service dept recommended the service). the transmission has been faulty ever since. the vehicle is 2002 gmc yukon, 2 wd.*jb

 Dt: 2002 gmc yukon. the consumer had to have abs sensors replaced. there was a recall but it did not effect the consumer's state, which was wisconsin. this could be replaced by dealership for the amount of $924. the consumer paid to have sensors replaced. the consumer experienced the same problem as stated in the recalled vehicles . mechanic tested the sensors and stated this would not stop vehicle.*ak the front hub and bearing were corroded along with the sensors. the left rear axle was worn which caused a fluid leak. *jb

 Dt: there is a an ongoing investigation on the issue consumer was experiencing ,nhtsa investigation pe05020. while driving at low speeds under 5 mph abs engaged when applying brakes. the wheel speed sensor improperly responded with pedal depressed and a loss of brakes. took vehicle to the dealer for repairs and the left front wheel hub bearing assembly was replaced along with the wheel speed sensor. since this repairs the problem has been corrected. consumer did contact gm, who noted no recall in the us. *ak

 Dt*: the contact stated while attempting to turn at 15 mph, the rear driveline differential broke followed by a banging noise as though it was dragging. the vehicle was seen by a dealer for inspection. while the mechanic test drove the vehicle, the driveline differential unit completely separated. the vehicle is currently at the dealership awaiting repairs. updated 05/04/06.
