Gas gauge does not correctly reflect what is in the tank, have run out of gas or come close quite a few times due to incorrect readings, it will show 1/2 full and drop rapidly within minutes to empty. i've taken it in they said it was the gauge cluster in the dash so they replaced it, it happened again, took it back in and of course at that time it was out of warranty they said they have not heard of any problems at the dealership in regards to this problem and that they assume the sending unit is bad and would replace it if i paid for it, why this wasn't done the 1st time under warranty is beyond me, but i've noticed on the news that other vehicles are having similar problems and searching the web i see i'm not alone. they need to step up and fix the problem.

Driving 60 mph on a 20 mile bridge, the engine failed (engine light and traction control light were on. no power steering or power brakes. nothing appeared to be overheated. 2 hrs later it started, 5 minutes later it killed again. towed to nearest dealership. they road tested it and car failed again. found 1 broken wire inside wire insulation. repaired. picked up car and it failed 1 mile later, took it back to dealership on reduced engine power. they found 2 more broken wires. replaced harness. one week later it happened again. after brief wait it started and ran for another day until i could get it to the dealership purchased from. they could not find anything wrong. two weeks later it failed again. tow truck took it to another dearlership. they changed another part relative to the fuel system and said it may be fixed. i refuse to pick it up or drive it again; it's dangerous and undependable. have asked gm for another car and i am waiting for their response. *jb

While driving 65 mph and pulling a trailer vehicle stalled. prior to stalling there was some hesitation and jerking as if not getting fuel to engine. the dealer took vehicle to dealership in arizona, and fuel pump had to be replaced. this was the second occurrence for fuel pump problem. also, experienced steering problem. the steering would be sticking, and it would jam when making turns either left or right. the mechanic at dealership had to replace a seal in column shaft of steering wheel. *ak the light clunk noise in the steering, low voltage, and insufficient fuel pressure on aceleration intermittently. *sc

I have a 2003 gmc yukon. it now has 20,000 miles. gm has had to replace the fuel pump twice so far and will have to every time i run low on gasoline. it seems that the pump is located in the gas tank and the pump depends on the tank having enough liquid to keep the electric pump cool. otherwise it overheats and burns up. i can't believe such dumb engineering. i'm sure that i am not the only consumer who has had this trouble. the service people make no secret that you must keep at least a quarter tank at all times to keep the pump from burning up. *ak

Dt: contact stated the speedometer and gas gauge failed. the needle on the speedometer moved, but it said 100 mph when going only 5 mph. he took the vehicle to the dealership, and they stated it was a common problem and usually happened at 30,000 miles. they were able to diagnose the problem without looking at the vehicle. he has not contacted the manufacturer and the vehicle has not been repaired. *ak
