| Stabilitrack light and check engine light illuminates while driving down the highway. the car goes to idle and has no power to accelerate, almost got rear ended by another car. once pulled over to side of road, shut engine down and waitied 15 mins to restart. stability track light and check engine light remains on and car accelerates normally. this has happened several times and is an extreme hazard! i have read numerous accounts of this happening to other owners of this model vehicle and dealer has no resolution to fix the problem, they just charge consumers for parts that are not really resolving the issue. this is dangerous for all drivers and will cause a fatality in the near future, something needs to be done!!! | |||

| I was driving on the expressway at 70 mph and the car completed shut me down to 50 mph in a matter of seconds the check engine light came on then the service traction control, traction control off, service stability track, stability track off. i took to the dealer and had over $1100.00 worth of work done including the throttle body. here we are 5 months later and i am on the expressway car shuts down again and the same warning signals, check engine light, service traction control, service stabilitrak light comes on again. i also have a problem with oil consumption barely make it 1000 miles on a new oil change when the check oil light comes on, when you check the oil there isn't even any oil on the stick. *tr | |||

| Vehicle gets extremely low gas, 13 mpg on average. burns oil . need to add 2-3 quarts of oil between oil changes. engine cooling fan stays on for extended periods while driving. all of which the dealership says is normal for the truck. they removed the driveshaft because of clunking at 25k mi. reaction carrier replaced and transmission reconditioned at 36,663 mi after car stopped in the middle of the street. car had to be towed in. at 62k miles engine light on and idles rough. replaced throttle body. at 67k won't engage in reverse and makes klunking sound from reverse to drive. replaced reverse housing, reaction shell, etc. at 75k had a reaction carrier failure, lost power brakes and lost power to the car. almost was rear ended. had to stop in middle of parking lot during christmas rush. waited 5 min and restarted. engine light stayed on, but was able to get to dealership. was told that throttle body needs to be cleaned every 15k miles under service maintence. this was the first time i heard this! not really sure why it had to be cleaned, though, just had the throttle body replaced 13k miles ago. it seems that there are major flaws in the design of the engine. obviously, the dealership has been putting band aids on my problem because they don't know how to fix. i have been very lucky that my family and children have not been in a major accident due to the major flaws in the engine designs. every time i get my car fixed, the tech assures me that they have fixed the problem. i am really afraid to drive this car with so many close calls. the car is a hazard to drive! | |||

| I placed the shift in park, stepped out of the car (it was dark about 10pm) and was imediately knocked down. the car backed over both legs and into a ditch. i hit my head and was unconcious for 15-20 minutes. i am recovering slowly. i am sure i put the car in park-at least i thought i did. | |||

| 2007 yukon goes into reduced engine power on a regular basis. as a result, there was a crash on one particular incident. on a daily basis, it continues to and the engine cuts out as a result as well, no rhyme or reason. on the interstate, going 70 miles an hour the vehicle cut off, went into reduced engine power and myself and my family were just seconds short from losing our lives. this has all been reported to gm and we've gotten no resolution. motherboards, gas pedals, gas caps, wires, everything you can think of has been replaced on my vehicle and it still goes into reduced engine power putting my families lives at risk. this is an extremely dangerous situation. | |||

| I purchased a 2007 yukon and since that time i have had the rear axle bearing replaced 2 times at 43k miles and again at 93k due to a humming noise extremely loud. again the noise recurred at 123k miles i returned to dealer they refused to diagnose the problem because the warranty was expired at 100k. i mentioned that the noise returned for the 3rd time. ii continued to drive the vehicle and a few days later while driving on the freeway w my daughter the car locked ( differential). the differential gears broke..i had it towed back to the last dealer that repaired vehicle and they mentioned it was out of warranty ( which is why they couldn't inspect it unless i paid). i then took it to my home dealer where car was purchased and they discovered an intact screw when they removed the cover from differential. mechanic noted that the previous dealer that worked on vehicle might have not tightened bolt correctly since bolt had no damage of threads and was intact. i then called gm customer service and they refused to correct problem. service director did mention that axles could have shot out and caused fatal crash keep in mind my daughter of age 6 was in the car.dealer (home dealer) still has vehicle and dealer that last repaired refuses to correct problem. it has been 1 year and 1 month since last repaired and mentioned if not tightened properly it would have already caused problem by now. please advise if i have any alternative course of action the repairs exceed 5000.00 dollars not including any damage to the transmission when drive shaft locked ... *tr | |||

| My name is mario moreno, i reside in tucson az, i own ad my wife and i drive a 2007 g m c yukon slt, my concern is our yukon seems to lunge at times, what i mean is, when we stop our s u v at stoplights, stop signs, or pulling into our garage the rpm raises to what i feel is an unsafe levle .which requires us to apply the brakes in a manner for which i and my wife feel is excessive pressure being applied to the brakes. we have expressed our concerns to our local g m c dealership more than five times in a one year time frame. their responce is we and our techs, can not duplacate the issue we have expressed! we both feel this is an unacetpable responce. i know that the system inolved is non mechcanicle system that opperates the gas peddle it opperates the the accelorator peddle by the use sensors and or sending units.please advise. im we are very concerned about oue familys saftey.yours truly mario moreno p.s thank you for your consideration | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. while driving at highway speeds or lower, the transmission shifts very hard. there is also a harsh pounding sound coming from the transmission. all of the electrical components on the instrument panel failed. the dealer changed the crankshaft sensor. while driving, the contact cannot tell when the gear is in neutral. the speedometer displays inaccurate speeds and the air bag light illuminates. the plastic on the window fell off and the front driver's side door handle sticks when it is pulled, and will not go back in. the contact hears a rubbing sound coming from the steering column. the instrument panel cluster has been replaced and the check engine light would remain illuminated. the current mileage was 29,000 and failure mileage was 10,229. update 09/10/08 *cw the lug nut caps were missing, the check engine light was on. the gas cap was not sealing. the dealer replaced the gas cap. updated 09/15/08. *jb | |||

| This new vehicle has shifting problems. sometimes the rpms will reverse when you stomp on the gas. it doesn't respond. this is a safety issue in that if you pull out into traffic, you may or may not get the acceleration needed to avoid impact. the transmission goes crazy. the local gmc certified repair service tech said that they have been instructed not to try to work on the system. gmc is aware of the problem, but there are no solutions. it will actually miss and loose rpm's when you accelerate in mountain terrains. it is only somewhat reliable in highway travel that is flat. someone is going to get killed soon if not addressed immediately. *jb | |||

| Driving at about 20 miles per hour, excelled to get past another vehicle and the vehicle basically stopped, threw us(kids, myself) back, almost in a whiplash type manner. as i tried to excel the engine just revved and the car would not move. i put into 3rd, but when i made a stop i had to put into 2nd. stopped again, had to go to first, wouldn't move in any other gear and barely in first. i was near the dealer thank goodness and pulled in there. *jb | |||

| When coming to a complete stop, the brakes jerk or a slipping motion after you are at complete stop. we have brought it to the attention to the dealership numerous times and the have just lubed the problem, according their memo that is the procedure, insteading of fixing the problem. this is a almost daily basis, it appears to be a problem that gmc doesn't want to spend the money to fix on these vehicles. | |||
