SEATS
11/19/2011
When the second row seats are folded down (ie. some one enters the third row) .to return the seat to the original position you have to lean over the seat to release the mechanism, which sends the seat back up violently causing a blow to the head and face and breaking glasses, let alone a severe headache. this has happened on several occasions to several people. please check if others have reported this safety situation. this occurs with second row captains seats.

SEATS - FRONT ASSEMBLY - HEAD RESTRAINT

I purchased four after market built in video/dvd monitor head rests that broke apart upon impact when the middle row seat was flipped forward into the front seat of my 2008 honda odyssey. the metal support pole was only attached to plastic. this is clearly a defect substandard design which causes concern for me of what would occur during an accident if by just the seat flipping forward into the other could break the housing . the head rest is made by tview mobile entertainment solutions (universal electronics inc) 5721 savoy st. houston tx 77036. 800.559.6580 or 832.251.2000 email info@tview.us. the model is t920pl-gr 9.2 tft. i purchased the video head rests from national auto sound located at 11001 e us hwy 40, independence, mo 64055 phone 816.356.8700 www.nationalautosound.com i was told when i purchased the head rest that they comply to safety standards but after the above incident they clearly do not. so my question is what are the standards for after market head rests and are there safety standards companies need to comply to? *tr
SEATS - MID/REAR ASSEMBLY
02/29/2008102/29/2008
This is not a complaint about a vehicle accident, however it is a complaint about a vehicle design when installing a car seat. on the 2008 honda odyssey there is an 8th seat that is in the middle row center; it is called a magic seat. the dealer told me that a car seat can be installed safely in this magic seat. however, after i purchased the car i was unable to find a car seat to fit this seat that could be installed correctly (meaning not moving more than 1 inch in any direction). i tested many models of cars seats including: britax, graco, evenflow, sunshine kids, etc. the owner's manual of the odyssey is very vague on whether or not a car seat can be installed in this seat and after calling honda usa custom service, the agent could not give a straight answer on whether this seat was designed to hold a car seat or if any car seats were tested by honda. i complained to the dealer, but since i had already purchased the car, they only directed me to the honda usa costumer service. *tr
