Yesterday (3/4/2013), i lifted open the trunk, on my honda odyssey 2008 (ex-l). i noticed that it was a little heavy to lift. when i lifted it all the way up and let it go, it immediately came down on my head. luckily, i was able to catch it before it hit my head. the trunk door would not stay in the open position, and comes down to a hard close if not held open by hand. so far, i have not received any communication from honda on the below mentioned recall, that is same as the issue i am facing report receipt date: feb 16, 2012 nhtsa campaign number: 12v062000 component(s): structure potential number of units affected: 45,747 recall notification :honda. 2008- early 2009 model year honda odyssey ex-land touring models power liftgate gas struts

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda odyssey. while driving the vehicle will drift to the left and right. this condition reduces his ability to control the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the vehicle was realigned five times, the power steering system was replaced, and a set of tires were replaced. after all of the repairs the technicians stated that the failure was a normal characteristic of the vehicle. he was advised by the manufacturer to pursue the lemon law. the failure mileage was 5. the current mileage was 24,000. updated 01/20/10 *bf updated 01/22/10.*jb

I purchased a brand new honda odyssey (2008) in dec. 2008. the vehicle has a steering problem and will not drive straight. after making a right-hand turn the vehicle pulls right and after making a left-hand turn the vehicle pulls left. honda has been unable to correct the problem after 4 attempts. they have replaced the entire rack and pinion system twice. they have replaced the power steering system, and the struts. none of these solutions have resolved the issue. *tr
