Traveling at approximately 70 mph with the vsa (vehicle stability assist) off, the automatic transmission suddenly shifted into neutral. i lost power and forward momentum. i was startled and when i looked at the gear selector, the indicator showed the selector in the neutral position. i moved the selector to the drive position and immediately had forward momentum once again. i'm terrified to imagine what could have happened had i been passing another vehicle with oncoming traffic. the service technician said, that couldn't happen. it is impossible for the transmission to move from drive to neutral without someone moving the transmission selector. i assure you it is possible, because it happened to me! *tr

Driving the car at a speed of 35-40mph and 45-50mph there is a shuddering and vibration feeling coming from the drivetran. i took it to the dealer where i bought it and i asked for a tech to take a test ride with me and they said no one was available. i left the car with them. the tech called me later and said they did not notice the vibration and there is nothing wrong. upon researching this issue, it appears it is a fairly common problem and honda is doing nothing to address this. the vibration is very noticeable and it is getting worse. i bought the car new on 4/30/11.

I bought 2011 honda pilot ex-l res at the end of april, 2011. i noticed there was a pink color oil leak (3 size) on my garage floor on the first day after about 60 mile drive. after then, it kept leaking every time after running the car. i have honda dealer checked it yesterday. i was told that was the transmission fluid leak. i was shocked when i heard this. it is a brand new car and transmission oil leaked at the first day when i drove from dealer back to home (~60 miles). the dealer could not locate where exactly the leak comes from and waiting for the response and decision from honda corp to either fix it it replace the transmission. i searched and knew that there are lots the same issues on pilot. the more you drive, the worse the problem is even after repairing it. i wish i knew this issue before i bought this junk.

2011 honda pilot, spontaneous star crack in lower center windshield, spontaneous rear hatch and passenger door opening while driving with my young child in the rear passenger seat (with locked doors), transmission rattle upon slow acceleration or coast at second and third gears....honda dealer said call insurance about windshield, something must have hit windshield without me knowing it, said found no abnormal noises and cannot duplicate rattle noise because different people have different driving patterns, said cannot duplicate doors opening while driving, dealer did not fix any of these safety issues, just told us to pick up the car...after research on internet, i believe these to be manufacturer defects. i purchased a brand new vehicle so i did not have to worry about safety or repairs. this is the third pilot i have had, and the safety issues are very concerning. after the recall on the 2004 pilot transmission, why have the same issues come up again in 2010? many complaints can easily be found regarding thefaulty transmissions and windshields in honda vehicles. how is it legal for a car manufacturer to continue rolling out vehicles with known safety issues? and they market these vehicles to families with children. how about a class action law suit and shut down these manufacturing facilities? i will never trust honda again, after 15 years of loyalty and trust that safety should be a core issue.
