| On 04/06/2012 i was driving on the 60e freeway in the #2 lane going 65 mph and the car suddenly lost all acceleration. it dropped from 65-40 within seconds and the car would not respond when i pressed the gas pedal. i was barely able to get to the right shoulder without causing an accident (this happened during rush hour). the shoulder was extremely narrow and the car was completely disabled. within minutes an rctc tow truck appeared and the driver asked what had happened. when i explained how the car had lost all acceleration, he told me it sounded like i ran out of gas. the gauge on the dash said there was still a quarter of a tank of gas left and i showed it to him, so i didn't believe that this could be possible. he offered to put a gallon of gas in the tank to see if it would start up and as soon as he did that the car started up with no problem. he directed me to pyrite st to fill up my tank and when i got there the car took almost 20 gallons! even though the gauge read that there was still 1/4 tank of gas! after looking online this appears to be a very common problem and i'm upset that infiniti has not issued a recall knowing that this affects so many people. this is a serious safety issue. i drive 82 miles a day on the fwy and being female, i am afraid that this could happen at any time and i would be stranded. it is also so dangerous to lose all power on the freeway! i feel this should be reported as a recall item and that infiniti should be compelled to recognize the problem as the widespread issue that it is, and complete the necessary repairs to make this an operationally safe vehicle. | |||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35x sedan. the contact stated that the fuel gauge was providing inaccurate fuel level readings. the fuel would provide an empty reading when the fuel tank was full and once the fuel tank reached one half full, the fuel gauge would fluctuate back and forth. the vehicle had not been taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 70,000 and the current 75,000. kmj | |||

| I am having a major issue with my 2005 infiniti g35x which has a flawed fuel level sensor gauge. i have read in many forums of people having the same issue and filing a complaint. it is a serious matter, the meter sometimes reads full but is actually close to empty. this can lead to an engine shut-off on interstate and expressways and pose as a major hazard to me and other drivers. i believe nissan/infiniti should offer a recall or drivers should be reimbursed for any repairs that there car will undergo to fix the problem.. thank you. | |||

| At 55k miles, car is refusing to accept any more than 6 gallons of gas. looked it up and there are four tsb's on it but no recalls. further research indicates that it is a known problem with the 2005 g35 sedans. called infiniti in austin and was told oh yeah, we've seen that problem a lot. it's about $900 to fix it. ridiculous that an obvious flaw with the car, occurring nationwide has not been recalled. | |||
