Defect SummaryNissan is recalling certain model year 2005 through 2007 infiniti g35 sedans manufactured from march 29, 2004 through august 25, 2006 and infiniti g35 coupes manufactured from april 1, 2004 through may 30, 2007. the wire harness connecting the belt tension sensor (bts) and the occupant detection sensor (ods) control unit under the front passenger seat can experience relative movement which can cause wear and oxidization of the terminals and may cause interruption of the signal.
Consequence SummaryIn the event of a crash, the airbag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective SummaryNissan will notify owners and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. the safety recall is expected to begin on or about june 21, 2010. owners may contact nissan toll-free at 1-800-662-6200.

 Air bags disabled sensor remains on. i have taken vehicle to have repaired at nissan dealer twice, but each time the disabled sensor will come back on. i filed complaint with infiniti but after the initial contact the assigned agent would not respond to my phone calls after they discovered what the complaint was about. the complaint was file in april of 2009 with infiniti corporation. this vehicle was still under warranty at the time the company stopped responding to my complaint about the air bag disabled sensor coming on. the repairs and complaint are in infiniti's corporate files. the vehicle was taken to pearson inifiniti in richmond, va to be repaired twice for the sensor before i file a complaint with the corporation. the vehicle still has not been repaired. the problem started when the vehicle had about 35,000 miles on the odormeter.

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 infiniti g35. while driving at 35 mph, another vehicle swerved and crashed into the contact?s vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. the contact suffered neck and body injuries and a police report was filed. the contact had not called the manufacturer at the time of the complaint. the vin was unavailable when the complaint was filed. the failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

 Tl*- the contact stated that the passenger's air bag light kept blinking on and off on the 2006 infiniti g35. the dealer can't determine out what was the cause of the failure. the contact contacted the manufacturer ,and they stated that it was normal for the air bags light to blink, but they were not sure until they pin point the failure. the current and failure mileage was 5000.*ak updated 04/05/07. *jb
