Defect SummaryNissan is recalling 204,361 my 2007-2008 altima, altima hybrid, 350z, 350z roadster, my 2008 altima coupe, rogue, my 2009 murano, and infiniti my 2007-2008 g35 sedan, my 2008 g37 coupe and ex35 passenger vehicles equipped with continental automotive systems' occupant classification system (ocs) control units. a varistor in the ocs control unit located in the passenger seat cushion may have been manufactured out of specification. under certain conditions, this could cause an interruption of signal between the ocs and the air bag control unit (acu).
Consequence SummaryThis could result in the passenger air bag being suppressed which could fail to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash.
Corrective SummaryDealers will test the signal between the ocs and acu systems using a special tool to check that it is functioning as designed. if necessary, the seat cushion (containing ocs hardware) will be replaced with a new one manufactured to specification. the recall began on november 4, 2008. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.

Unbelievable for a so called luxury vehicle. my car is only 4 years old with less than 75,000 miles on it and the control board has already gone out. the air condition will not shut off (and it's freaking 60 degrees outside). i cannot turn on the radio, defrost (which is a major visibility concern-especially now that is getting colder). nothing is working except for starting the car. i called infiniti's consumer group and was told that there are no recalls for this make and model despite the numerous complaints online. while researching service bulletins and recalls i found that this has been an issue on past infiniti models as mine. however, it's continuing into the newer models, with no type of recognition of these mechanical/electrical issues.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 infiniti g35 sedan. the vehicle was parked and had been shut off for approximately 12 hours when it engulfed in flames. the fire began on the dashboard. the fire department appeared on the scene to extinguish the fire and a police report was also filed. the vehicle was destroyed but has not been moved from the location. it was not examined for the cause of failure and has not been repaired. the failure and current mileages were unknown. sm.

The intelligent key offered with the new technology package is not built to withstand normal use. my unit completely died with 48 hours of owning the vehicle, leaving me stranded and missing mother's day lunch. infiniti has acknowledged conflicts with the key and mobile phones, however a recall needs to be enacted. *tr
