	Tl*the contact owns a 1999 infiniti i30. the contact was driving when he noticed smoking emitting from the hood into the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who informed the contact that the diode ignited, causing a fire in the alternator. the vehicle had not been repaired. the contact called the manufacturer who stated his vehicle was not included in recall 99v129000 (electrical system: alternator/generator/regulator). the current and failure mileages were approximately 110,000.
