| When i took my car in for service my mechanic noticed excessive rusting on the frame below the radiator. it is the only place on the entire car underbody with rust. the metal bar is almost completely rotted through, and my mechanic said the car is unsafe to drive - if i hit a pothole or a bump the bar will crack and the engine/radiator will lose support. my car only has 114,000 miles. it's 12 years old. only one spot on the car has the excessive rust that is eaten through. this sounds like nissan did not rustproof one section properly, and should be investigated. | |||

| Research of nhtsa records show 3 other complaints similar to mine. i first reported this issue to nissan on feb-12-08. the rear suspension bottoms out. diagnosis by my mechanic, later confirmed by the infiniti dealer, was the failure of the passenger side moog rear suspension mount. my message to nissan at the time read as follows: i am unpleasantly surprised that a bushing in the rear suspension of my i30 needs replacement, and that the complete rear end must be replaced. it is going to cost me $800 to replace a $40 bushing that should have never failed in a car driven over excellent roads for only 87,000 miles. nissan/infiniti did not agree that it was unreasonable to charge close to $1,000 for the replacement of a $40 bushing and refused to offer any accommodation. the car now has 107,000 and the problem persists. *tr | |||

| Rear suspension bangs and bottoms out whenever the vehicle hits a hole or bump in the roadway. it also bottoms outwith any amount of weight in the rear seat. infinity installed the i30t model springs and struts when i complained but the problem still exists as before.it feels like you are driving on wooden wheels when you go over a bump or hit a hole. infiniti admitted the changed the rear suspension on this 2001 model year. its the worst riding car i have ever owned..i am exercising my rights under the state lemon law since infinity has said that the vehick is fin. ha ha. *ak | |||
