Purchased 2003 infiniti m45 with 104k miles at volvo of houston, tx and drove back to austin, tx. the fuel gauge read more that half a tank in the car, but was in fact closer to empty. while driving car ran out of gas on a main thorough fare had to call aaa roadside assistance for towing to local autorepair shop. in the past year have learned that this is a common problem the nissan corp refuses to recall.

Purchased new inf. m45 when car reached about 24000 miles. i took it in to be serviced. infiniti service was unable to reproduce problem. would call on several occasions informing dealership that their product was defective. i finally got tons of problems (perforated leather seats had mesh coming, cd changer jammed, ac compressor busted, belts on the motor had to be replaced, glove box had to be readjusted, hood had to be readjusted to stop the squeeking when closing the doors, front window guides and stabilizer-inner door had to be replaced to stop all the squealing when letting the windows up/down) and schedule another visit to see if the engine/exhaust problem could be repaired. the dealership had my car for 3 weeks...and cleaned out the combustion chamber at their cost and the day i got it back, it was still smoking out the pipes. the dealership says they know nothing else to do but to replace the motor if it's consuming oil. i found these other complaints which already state that infiniti knows about this oil consumption problem and appears to be giving me the run around. if the motor is replaced with another nissan v8, the same problem is likely to reoccur. their product is defective.*ak
