| I was driving my 2003 infiniti m45 on or around june 30, 2011 at 65mph on highway 290 near the wolf rd exit in chicago. all of a sudden while i was in the left lane, my car started jerking heavily and my power steering went off making the car really hard to steer. i looked at the dash and saw no warning msgs come on.... i carefully veered my car through heavy traffic towards the right lane and shoulder and i barely missed a truck coming in the far right lane! as i got to the shoulder and caught my bearings and was about to call an emergency tow truck a cop came and asked what happened. i explained it to him and he said maybe you need some gas? i looked at my dash and my fuel gauge still showed almost half a tank available but i took his advice. he took me to the closest gas station to get gas, we went back and filled the car and started the car which started fine now! i was in disbelief that my fuel gauge was broken and it almost got me into a heavy accident that might have severely injured me!! since then, my fuel gauge has not come back to normal and i don't have the extra money needed to fix it as i do believe its infiniti/nissan's job to fix it!! | |||

| As i was driving hike after work on 95 south my infiniti all of a sudden shut off while i was on the middle lane on the highway, i manages to let it ride over and get to the emergency lane before the car came to a complete stop, i did not know what was the issue until i had it towed to my mechanic and he told me that the car had no fuel, i did not understand because the gauge read a quater tank, after doing some research and getting my car scanned for the check engine light that is now on beause of it, i found out that this model m 2003-2004 all have the same issue with the gas gauge (instrument cluster). | |||
