| This was as close to a disaster as i ever want, the perfect storm in driving. i was driving, with my two small grandchildren in the backseat, at night, in a storm that warranted a severe storm warning. the rain was coming down in buckets as i met another car on a curve. i hit the dimmer switch and my lights went out completely. in a panic, i hit it again and they came back on in full bright mode. the poor driver i was meeting got bright light, total black darkness and back to bright lights so i really owe him or her a lot of gratitude for holding it together too. in reenacting the scene later, i realized that this happened because of a design that should never, never have been accepted. the dimmer switch and the on off switch are one and the same. when i pulled back on the dimmer, all i have to do is lean slightly down and it turns the lights off. if no one has died from this, it is only a matter of time. as an addendum, i would really like to encourage your organization to require that all vehicles driven in the us have the same switched for lights and wipers. it is ridicules to have to search for these in a driving situation. *tr | |||
