Consumer complaint regarding dealers failure to properly diagnose and repair drive train failure in 2002 jaguar s type. *ts ***no answer required*** this problem seem to be more present during cool temperatures. from the first day of purchase the vehicle demonstrated unsatisfactory operation of the transmission, exhibiting rough transition from on gear to the next when the drive train was cool. the transmission was replaced which reduced the severity of the rough shift but it never shifted as smoothly as the consumer felt a luxury vehicle should. during the winter the consumer had difficulty getting the vehicle to start. sometimes it took three attempts to start. then five minutes later the vehicle would stall and the fail safe warning light illuminated on the dash. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but they were unable to locate the problem. the problem recurred and again the dealer was unable to find a problem. *nm
