2008 jeep wrangler jk, equipment. the provided floor jack to change tires is insufficient. when placed in the recommended position to raise the vehicle (location in the owner's manual) the jack at full extension is not long enough to raise the vehicle. at full extension (also not recommended in the owner's manual) causes an unstable jack which increases the risk of the vehicle falling. the provided jack is too short making it unusable. to use the jack, you'd have to put makeshift blocks under it to raise it (not recommended), or buy an aftermarket jack. hopefully, no one's been hurt yet.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited. there is a recall for 2007-2010 wranglers for the fender flare rubbing on a brake tube causing failures. when i learned about the recall i checked my jeep and sure enough it has that exact issue. when contacting chrysler, they said my jeep was not part of the recall. when pushed that i had the exact same conditions the recall addressed, they said to take it to a dealer and pay for an inspection. if found to be similar, they would offer assistance (without agreeing to 100% coverage) to fix it. it is unacceptable that even though my jeep has the exact issue addressed in the recall that they refuse to include it in the recall because of the vin not being part of the official recall lot.
