| Approximately 1/4 gallon of gas back flows forcefully out of filler neck immediately following the release of the handle when the tank is full. this happens both when the handle is locked down in the fueling position and automatically clicks off and when i'm holding the handle to fill the tank. at no time am i attempting to overfill the tank beyond the safety shut off. this happens 100 percent of the time with the result of fuel landing on the rear fender, bumper, my clothes, shoes, and leaves a manhole cover size spot of fuel on the pavement. | |||

| I purchased my vehicle used in september of 2011 with 27k miles on it and every time i fill up my gas tank i end up with gasoline overflow. basically, i stick the gas nozzle in and when it is automatically finished, some gasoline spits back out of the tank all over the car, the ground and at times myself. this has happened every time, regardless of gas station or what state i am in (indiana, illinois and kentucky). the only solution is the manually pump the gas and estimate when it is almost full and stop. this is hardly practical and should be fixed. i see that the issue has been acknowledged by a simple google.com search but only for the 2007-2008 jeep wranglers. mine is a 2009 with the same exact issue. | |||

| Fuel spills out of the fuel filler neck as fueling is near completed. this has happened on several occasions since august and i have tried various solutions and nothing seems to solve the problem. my jeep wrangler now has 37,257 miles and is no longer under warranty. apparently this is a common problem with jeep wranglers. | |||

| Within the past several months i cannot fill up my gas tank without gas spilling out before the tank cuts off. this happens at all gas stations every time i fill up. the dealer told me the tubing needed to be replaced so they did it. but, i still had the problem. now they are telling me the charcoal cartridge is clogged and has blocked the vent into the gas tank. this will now need replacing. because i am just outside my warranty, chrysler has agreed to cover most of the cost. each time i have to pay a deductible because the dealer keeps deciding it is something else that is causing the problem. i have researched the problem online and it appears to be a common problem in jeeps. why hasn't chrysler corrected this problem? i read there was a recall of the problem in '07-'08 jeeps, but only those years. if the problem was acknowledged, why is it still happening in '09 jeeps? | |||

| Fuel overflows when using an automatic fuel fill nozzel. fuel will spill on the ground and sometimes on the operator. can be a substantial amount. but does vary. slow manuel filling is a must to avoid this. | |||

| When filling my gas tank up, gas will overflow out of the filler tube, onto the side of my jeep, onto the bumper and onto the ground when it is full or close to being full. the gas nozzle will shut off, but a lot of gas pours out. even when i manually hold the nozzle to slow the flow down, it still spills over. this has happened on 3 different pumps at the same station. the station is a newer station, around 5 years old. | |||

| Purchased new 2009 jeep rubicon and picked it up at the dealership on wed. 3/3/09 with 6 miles on the odometer. drove less than 2 miles to private property and drove up dirt hill (nothing that a jeep couldn't handle) & it got stuck. left rear wheel wasn't turning even though in 4w low. the wheel should have been able to move the entire vehicle since it was in 4-wheel drive. the driver got out to check the wheel and the fire was under the back of the vehicle & a loose hose was leaking some liquid. the driver tried to put out fire and was unable to. the fuel tank cracked (unkown if due to fire or if it caused the fire) and jeep continued to burn since tank was full. the vehicle is a complete loss. driver sustained second degree burns to right hand and his legs. no other injuries. the car fire started a small grass fire that was quickly contained. no structures were damaged, less than an acre burned. the dealership towed away the car for inspection. it is still unknown as to the reason for the wheel failure and the start of the fire. *tr | |||

| Everytime i fill my 2009 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon with gas, immediately after the pump turns off, gas starts flowing out of the fuel neck spilling on me the side of my vehicle and the ground. this has occurred at several different stations using different pumps. i can take my other vehicle to same pump and not have the same problem. i'm concerned not only of the damage this is doing to the body of my wrangler but also the environment because of all the gas spilling on the ground. | |||
