AIR BAGS - FRONTAL
03/25/200653000210/24/2004
On march 25, 2006 my family was on i-75 in our 2003 discovery se. we were in a construction zone and a person several cars ahead made a sudden lane change cutting off a driver ahead of in our lane. he brakes suddenly. the truck following struck him. i was already slowing down due to the heavy traffic. however, i struck the truck. it was not a heavy collision and the air bags did not deploy. almost immediately, i was struck from behind by an 18 wheeler. upon impact, my discovery burst into flames in the back. the impact again drove my vehicle in to the truck ahead. this time it was a very heavy impact (the hood crumpled and the windshield shattered) but the airbags did not deploy. we just barely got out (i had 2nd degree burns to side of face and hand) i am concerned that 1.) the air bags did not deploy at least the second time and 2.) the vehicle burst into flames on impact. *jb

Accident occurred on 4/10/03 while driving my 2003 land rover discovery on a slick sleet covered road where the airbag did not deploy and seat belt over my chest loosened and allowed me to fly forward and crunch the center of my chest on the steering wheel. the car company ( not the dealer) has been rude, non-responsive, and evasive. they have even refused to call me back, refused to tell me (today is one month since the accident) if they tested my air bag, have never asked or ever allowed me to share details of the accident, and have never allowed me to share details of my injury. they have been rude on the phone repeatedly and seem to show no interest at all in seeing that my family rides in a safe car. they have been six previous mechanical problems with the car that they refuse to talk about even though four of these involve a 'silent recall that dealer mechanics were aware of, but i was not allowed to know about. i don't want anyone else to ever experience this flippant rude attitude from an auto company. *nlm
