| Left rear wheel bearing completely defective - have had replaced. when first starting the car, the transmission will not operate until the car has warmed up at least 5 minutes. engine sometimes dies when car is put into reverse gear. gears change with a jolt and car jerks when transmission downshifts. trunk latch is inoperative from driver's side control. brakes catch and release when applied. | |||

| Transimission had to be rebuilt due to metal particles being found in fluid. this seems to be a common problem on this model car. passenger side rear wheel bearing had to be replaced. it started making a scrapping noise and the car was undrivable at that point. | |||

| My car has had repeated defects effecting the transmission and front wheel bearings. the repair cost for the transmission exceedes $3000. and the bearings cost $400. ea. this manufactures defect has not been recalled, and the manufacturer, subaru of america has failed to repair the defect. | |||
