Defect Summary	Vehicle description: motorcycles. the gasket between the fuel tank and the fuel pump mounting plate can lose its ability to provide a tight seal, allowing fuel to drip from the gasket.
Consequence Summary	In the presence of an ignition source, fuel leakage can result in a fire.
Corrective Summary	Dealers will install a redesigned fuel pump gasket on these motorcycles.
Notes	Owner notification began june 29, 1998.owners who take their motorcycles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact suzuki at 1-800-255-2550.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (-1888-327-4236).
