| In january 2004, the steel belt in one of our tires frayed through the tire tread while driving. the tire was replaced, and the company that sold it to us returned it to the manufacturer with a request for explanation of the defect. there was no reply. in june 2004, the same problem occurred with another tire from the same set. the mechanic replacing this second faulty tire pointed out that a third tire was bulging, because it had the same defect, and the steel belt would soon fray through the tread if not replaced. the tires were originally purchased new as a set of 4 in november 1999. they had about 37,000 miles wear when the first one had to be replaced, and about 41,000 miles wear when the next two had to be replaced. the brand is toyo, p215/65r15 800 ultra 95t bl. the dot number for the second tire that failed is cx kw 49 v 088. *ak | |||

| On december 27th, 2000 me and my family were traveling on vacation going east on i-10 out of el paso, tx, right before sonora, tx (mile mark 397 on i-10) i heard a noise coming from the rear of my vehicle and felt my van bouncing from the rear and tried to pull off the road all of a sudden the van pull me completely of the road and rolled over once, fortunately nobody was seriously hurt (i was traveling with my wife and 3 children) when i got out of my vehicle i noticed that the rear left side tire (driver's side) had peeled off the surface thread completely and had gotten of the rim causing the accident previously described.*ak (tiresize: p205/75r14)( dot number: tire size: p205/75r14 ) | |||

| This tire separated wrapping around axle and tearing off rear bumper, rendering the vehicle unstable until the rubber tread tire off. the fact wecould stop the vehicle without colliding with other vehicles on interstate 75 was a miracle. this tire had about 60000 miles on it but was above the tread depth limit. four tires were purchased in 1996 and another of this set was replaced over a year ago for developing an out of round condition. these tires are deadly. *ak( dot number: tire size: 21570r14 ) | |||
