| While driving on the freeway at approx. 65 mph, the vehicle stopped running without any prior notice of an issue. needed to cross, be coasted across 3 lanes of southern california freeway to the edge of the road. car wouldn't start, appeared that battery was low on power. had vehicle towed to dealership. vehicle wouldn't start after new battery installed, tech indicated fuel system problem. after $400 cost to investigate problem, determine that the car was out of fuel even though tank still registered at least a 1/4 of a tank. service rep. indicated that the mechanism to detect fuel level within the tank had become stuck and had to be replaced. i will have owned the car for 4 years next month and it has less than 35,000 miles. scion only provides a 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty. i am planning to contact toyota to see if they will cover all or part of the repairs. | |||
