| I purchased a 1999 toyota tacoma in 8/2000. the vehicle had a blown engine that had been replaced and had been involved in a minor accident. i bought it from a local auto-body shop for $10,500 where it had been repaired. i have made my living with this truck and have put over 200 k miles on it with no major repairs. it has been trouble-free and i had no thoughts of replacing it. in october 2008, i took the truck to a toyota dealer to be inspected for rust, on the advice of an friend. no rust perforation was found. in august 2011 i received a letter from toyota encouraging me to have the truck re-inspected for frame rust. i did this on 12/30/2011. this time they found rust on the driver's side, on the inside of the frame. the dealer told me that i could not drive the truck without signing a waiver and that the truck was eligible for toyota's repurchase program. i was given a rental vehicle paid for by toyota. on 1/5/2012 i was told the truck did not qualify for the repurchase program because it had a salvage title and to pick it up by the end of the day. i have lost a vehicle with no compensation and no recourse with toyota. there is no relationship between the facts that resulted in my truck having a salvage title and the frame rust. toyota isn't interested in entertaining the merit of my claim, period. please help me. i don't know what to do. | |||

| Toyota states it's goodyears' problem and goodyear states it's toyota's problem. i feel like a yoyo. my problem starts at 60mph where there is a vibration on the front end. the vibration gets worse at 75 and then smooths out around 83. i took the truck to cobb county toyota ,and jesse, a service advisor, told me that my tire was 42lbs. of road force - - - way out of specs...... needs to be replaced. jesse advised me to notify a goodyear tire store because it is their responsibility. so i notified tirequest goodyear tire store in cartsville ga. kalvin, store manager, said that is a dealer (toyota) problem. tirequest balanced the tire the best they could. i continued to have the same problem. on 4/21/2000 i called goodyears 1-800-321-2136 customer assistance , ref#3888832, susan. she called a goodyear dealer in dalton and talked with matt acklen store manager at goodyear bryman's plaza north. he was very helpful and told me the wheel was the cause of the problem not the tire. i went back to toyota on 4/21/2000 and jesse stated it was the tire and goodyear should stand behind their product. i have gotten nowhere with either company and am very frustrated. i have spent over $70 on balance and front end alignment plus travel and time. furthermore i'm back where i started. both companies are stating that they have seen the problem before and that it is a defect in the other companies product. i do not know who to believe but i would like to resolve this. is there any defects you are aware of on the goodyear wrangler gsa 31x10.50r 15lt? or on the toyota tacoma prerunner trd package 15 inch rim? *ak( dot number: tire size: 31x10.50r ) | |||

| 160k miles my truck frame, in the rear around the leaf springs and back completely rusted out. i had this truck on a lift 1.5 years ago and inspected it with a mechanic and it was fine. this frame rust happened very quickly. the truck is unsafe to drive now. only choice is to part it out or junkyard. getting someone to weld the frame is near impossible. truck is fine shape otherwise. *tr | |||
