My 2011 toyota tacoma 7188 is very dangerous to drive in windy conditions. at interstate speeds (70mph) it looses directional stability during windy conditions. my 2006 tacoma 7114 was solid as a rock in any conditions. i feel that the height of the vehicle causes wind to raise the vehicle ever so slight causeing a very dangerous drivability situation. sadly i have spoken to other owners and they experienced the same problems. this is my 12th toyota of which 6 have been tacomas. it is my very worst nightmare to drive. i fear my only option is to file a formal report to the ntsb as this a design flaw and cannot be corrected at any dealership. 5tfju4gn8bx004602 note there is no selection for a 2011 tacoma in the vehicle description so i selected a 2010 as they are virtually the same

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 toyota tacoma. the contact stated when the vehicle is traveling 5-10 mph the front wheels start to make a clanking sound and the comes up through steering and make it shake. the contact has had the entire front end inspected by two toyota dealers, but they could not duplicate the failure. the contact feels this needs to be check on a country or dirt road, because this is when the failure occurs. the contact does feels it will duplicate on city roads. the contact will have a third dealer inspect the vehicle. the failure mileage was 1000 and the current mileage was 3800.rl

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) we recently purchased a new 2010 toyota tacoma. on its first long distance trip, with less that 2000 miles on the vehicle and barely a month old, the rear factory installed high performance bilstein rear shocks got so hot that the oil sprayed out of the top seal melting the boots and getting them so hot the plastic material dripped down and coated the connection to the rear axle. the shocks completely failed at that point. when i took it into toyota of orange, in orange california where we purchased the vehicle, they informed me there was a bulletin out on the rear springs. they replaced both the springs and the shocks. i have written them several times to find out whether the shocks were faulty, or if it was a rear spring issue, or just a poor design with the vehicle, but have not heard back from them to date. this is a serious safety concern for the vehicle is unstable when the shocks failed. we are trying to get an answer as to why this vehicle, with both factory installed off-road and tow packages, failed with only a couple hundred pounds in the bed. it may be a real serious safety problem if this occurs when we have a load in the bed or a pulling a trailer. also, you may want to contact toyota and find out why this happened. if it is a systemic problem with this vehicle, there should be a recall out and not just a bulletin to prevent someone from getting seriously injured. our contact at toyota of orange is arlene hopkins [xxx]; the dealership is located at 1400 n. tustin ave, orange, ca 92865. she has not emailed a response to our concerns and it has been over almost two weeks. the vin # on the truck is [xxx]. thanks *tr
