| Tl- the contact owns 2008 toyota tundra. the contact stated the vehicle was rear end and when it was repaired, the plug in used to haul a trailer no longer working properly. the parts used were toyota parts. the design of the new plug is wider and it causes the electrical cable to hang further and the trailer lights to go in and out. the electrical cables will also pull out on their own causing the vehicle not to have electricity to the trailer being hauled. the contact has asked that the old design be put back on, but the manufacturer stated they no longer have the old design. this causes the trailer not to have tail lights or brake lights. the failure mileage and current mileages were 40,000. | |||

| I just bought my 2008 tundra and have noticed an incredible bounce while driving on the freeway. this does not seem normal and concerns me. the tires have been rotated and balanced and this doesn't seem to change the bounce effect. after reading online, it appears that toyota is familiar with this problem. i hope they fix it soon. i have taken the cars to two dealerships and they said it was normal. i have own 4 toyota trucks and none had this problem! i just hope that toyota realizes that there is a major problem before an accident or death happens! *tr | |||

| Paint on 2008 tundra crewmax is terrible quality. this is my first new vehicle purchase and i am for the most part very happy with my 08 pyrite mica crewmax purchase. my only problem with this truck is you got it, the paint job. don't get me wrong its a beautiful color, but man is this paint fragile. i have 408 miles on this truck and have leaned against it a few times loading and unloading items from the side and have scratches that are very noticeable from brushing against the side with blue jeans. for a truck with a 44,000 msrp, you would think it would have a better quality paint job than this, this is bs. my 98 chevy original paint is much tougher than this. toyota is going have to do better than this if they expect a repeat purchase from me. i realize certain chemicals have been banned from the painting process in the states, but we've got to do better with today's technology this shouldn't be happening. *tr | |||

| I have owned my 2008 toyota tundra for 6 weeks now and love my truck!! the only problem is with the factory paint job. the paint on this vehicle scratches far too easy. if a hose rubs on it, or if someone's jacket rubs along the vehicle, it will scratch all the way down to the metal! i understand that this is a pickup truck, but toyota should stand behind the quality of their work. *tr | |||

| After about 45 days i started noticing scratches all over my truck. it had never been off road and had only been hand washed by the dealership. toyota corp. and the dealership were of absolutely no help. yesterday i bumped(and i mean barely bumped) the hood with the water hose while washing it, and it took the paint off all the way down to the metal! unbelievable! a $40,000 truck that is ruined! i will have to invest thousands of dollars for a new paint job. *tr | |||

| 08 tundra crewmax. has multiple scratches in the paint. paint is very thin (one coat). paint can not even be washed without scratching. truck has scratches on it from leaning over the bed, also around all the door handles from just opening the doors, not to mention all the marks around the door and tailgate from just our hands. $45,000 truck...you would think that they could atleast put a good coat of paint on it. this will cost me thousands to fix. the truck has never been off road and should have no visible marks. this is ridiculous. *tr | |||

| I have an white 08 tundra cewmax limited. the paint is horrible. it seems like every little light touch of it brings it down to the grey undercoating. for instance, my key fob hit the gate when i was unlocking the tailgate and it chipped it right down to the grey undercoating. the truck is peppered with these probably from road debris. i could understand a little here or there but not this many and having it happen so easily most recently my clearcoat has started to fail and my truck is only 4 years old. it gets washed almost weekly and waxed every month with meguires nxt 2.0. i know every little ding, scratch and dent on the truck and everytime i go to wash it, there are more. the paint/clearcoat is not very protective and has not held up. my other car is 12 years old and gets the same car care treatment as my tundra and its paint is 100% better than this truck. it is also a toyota and white. *tr | |||

| I have the blue streak color and it has many scratches. the white under coat shows through. showed to dealer. they saw the scratches and chipping paint but did not acknowledge that there was a problem, and did nothing to rectify. if i buy a toyota tundra again, i will get white so that scratches won't show through the paint. *tr | |||

| 2008 toyota tundra double cab 4x4 sr5 w/trd off road this truck is clearly unsafe to drive. when you drive the truck and hit a bump in the road, the truck bed bounces. it will actually affect the steering and ability to control the vehicle. while driving the truck at highway speeds, if you hit a large bump it is exceptionally hard to steer and control. i know truck beds can bounce, but this truck is way more than the norm!! the bounce has actually led to my 1st tundra's bed to be out of square 1 1/2 . further more , if you measure from the back of the cab to the top of the bed, there was a difference of 1 3/4 inches from the left and right side. please help! toyota has recognized the problem of the bed bounce, but refuses to help. this is a problem is serious and needs to be looked into immediately. please call if you guys have any questions i will be glad to help. thank you *tr | |||

| Anyone familiar with shaken baby syndrome will recognize this defect. on certain sections of pavement and at certain speeds, this vehicle sets up a harmonic vibration and shakes so violently that infants are at risk. the events are easily repeated and are known to the manufacturer. *tr | |||

| My tundra was making scraping noises when turning. brought the truck to toyota for service to find out the rear bearings on both sides were rusting out and they had to be replaced. service representative said he called toyota already even though my warranty had long passed. he stated that toyota had increased the warranty on the bearings to a 5 year/65,000 miles. toyota did pay about 1/4 th of the cost. seems as though they know there is a defect in the bearing but not willing to cover the total cost of repair. this is the first time i have ever had bearing issues on any vehicle that i have owned. i drive most of my vehicles for about 8 years or more. thus one of the reasons i buy toyotas. not sure if that will be true any longer. *tr | |||
