| TIRES | |||

| I left houston with a new camping trailer on its first trip to a nascar race in ft. worth texas in april. with less than 300 miles on the tires i had my first blowout (driver rear) on the trailer. checklist was completed before trip started. tire pressure, compartment doors. ect. upon inspection it was noted that tread has separated around the tire and a 3 hole with cord was sticking out. the tire exploded loud enough for me and my daughter to hear with windows up and radio cd playing. note i drive a ford f-350 diesel also. discount tire call carlisle and informed me that they would pro-rate the tire upon replacement. didn't think much about it. so the 225/75/r15 tire was replaced. second trip in september running away from hurricane rita my second blowout with less than 1000 miles on the trailer. i almost lost my life changing the tire with people leaving houston with their own flight from rita. air pressure checked along with a visual inspection. i truly feel that these tires are over rated and are too light for the 5th wheel service. i also feel that someone will become injured/die because nothing is being done to correct this problem. i hope to resolve this problem by upgrading the tires with a heaver sidewall such as a 10 ply type of tire. *nm | |||
