| Defect Summary | Coachmen is recalling certain recreational vehicles equipped with 1200-series norcold refrigerators. the population of refrigerators being addressed contains either a sensing algorithm or thermal switch to shut off power to the refrigerator when high temperatures are detected in order to prevent a potential fire. the response times of the sensor algorithm and thermal switch devices to stop power are not sufficient. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1999 ford georgie boy landoll (na). the contact received a ford recall notice for the vehicle speed control: cruise control and she immediately scheduled an appointment to have the vehicle repaired. the dealer informed her that the parts would be unavailable until january of 2008 to have the speed control disconnected. the vehicle is not being driven and has not caught fire. she called the dealer in mid-january and they stated that they did not know when the parts would be available and referred her to the manufacturer. the manufacturer stated that the parts would possibly be available in may of 2008. there had been no failure to date. the engine size, number of cylinders, powertrain, and recall number were unknown. the current mileage was 30,000. updated 02-21-08 *bf | |||
