Defect Summary | Coachmen is recalling 2,555 my 2000-2009 georgie boy and coachmen recreational trailers equipped with axles that include bosch zops or zoht pin slide hydraulic disc brakes. when combined with occasional or seasonal vehicle operation may experience calipers sticking in the applied position. this can result in abnormal heat generation at the wheel end causing brake drag. the driver would normally have warning of the brake drag if undetected by the driver. | |||||||||||||||

Tl*- the contact stated that was having problems with the retractable room compartment on the 2005 georgie boy landau 35. the pin that held the shaft, which made the room retract sheared off. when the vehicle was off and he needed to depress button to release the brake and depress switch to the open position in order to slide out the room compartment, he heard a snap and room would not open. the contact stated once the pin broke the room could retract without warning. the vehicle was drivable. however, without the pin; the room could retract at any time. the dealership replaced the pin 3 times. the vehicle currently had 7,000 miles. *ak the consumer stated on the first occurrence he entered the main slide out room something snapped and the consumer realized the room had become unattached from the original tracking position. the consumer stated took the unit in for repairs on 11/2/06 and retrieved the unit on 11/9/06. the consumer was informed the retaining pin that holds the main slide out room to the motorhome had broken. again after driving the motorhome the same incident the consumer heard the snapping sound and consumer took the motorhome to the dealer and found a broken pin and replaced gears to the motor. the consumer stated this problem happened 2 more times. the consumer stated the motorhome is parked feeling the motorhome is unsafe. the consumer provided photos of the defect. updated 07/30/07 *tr | |||

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 georgie boy landau. while traveling 65 mph the contact noticed that the check engine light and abs light had appeared on the dashboard. the vehicle was taken to the dealership where the catalytic converter and instrument cluster was replaced, however the contact is still experiencing the failure. the vehicle has been taken to the dealership on nine different occasions for the same failure. the failure mileage was 1000 and the current mileage was 10000. bml | |||

2006 georgie boy landau 2450ds with defective or faulty front coil springs, front end of vehicle is dropped down so tires are close to wheel well. mechanic tells me it is unsafe to drive, coil springs need to be replaced. vehicle has 11,000 miles. front tires replaced at cost of $800 after only 8000 miles. *tr |
