| Defect Summary | Certain replacement fuel filters, fram brand name p/n g3727, with date codes x52911 through x60801 sequentially or x600141 and a mexico country or origin marking on the fuel filter housing manufactured from october 18, 2005, through march 21, 2006, sold for use on the vehicles listed above and on certain school buses. (to see the school bus engine sizes, click on document search and then bus applications). the connector on the fuel filter was not manufactured to honeywell's specification. as a result, the o-ring may not seat correctly on the fuel line. | |||||||||||||||

| On march 13, 2010 at 7 am i found my 2005 gmc yukon xl, which was parked and locked in my driveway at the time, with the right rear turn signal flashing. after obtaining the keys to unlock the vehicle and upon opening the driver door i found the dash board completely melted as a result of a spontaneous fire which had occurred sometime after 12 am that morning. there was a small hole in the front windshield just above where the fire occurred. the headliner was completely charred all the way to the back of the vehicle. the contents of the vehicle were covered in heavy soot including a brand new toddler car seat, stroller, softball gear bag, dvd notebook filled with dvd's and various tools. after the fire was investigated by the maryland state fire marshall's office the fire was determined to be electrical. it never penetrated through the firewall into the engine compartment. it was also determined that the fire extinguished itself due to lack of oxygen and never affected the outside of the vehicle other than the hole left behind in the upper left hand corner of the windshield. it was raining that night, so it is believed the rain is what kept enough oxygen from entering through the hole. we contacted gm and our insurance immediately. we didn't hear back from gm until 3 days after the occurrence. they took a report. we were told that the report would be sent to texas and we should hear something back within 5-10 business days. today is day 11 and the only thing i have heard is that a letter has been sent by mail to us to submit to our insurance company. that letter has not yet been received. had this vehicle been parked in our garage the outcome would have been more catastrophic as it would have been dry allowing more oxygen to enter the vehicle. what if this spontaneous fire occurred with my children inside while i was pumping gas? there is only one key hole to unlock the entire vehicle and the vehicle would have been locked for their safety. | |||

| A friend of mine just showed me a letter he got in the mail that is a recall to fix the reduced engine power code that shows a throttle body needs repaired.. the letter says to bring his vehicle in if it is a gm or chevy model less than 10 years old and less than 150000 miles and they will fix it for free. i contacted gm to see if my gmc was on the list and they told me to take it to a dealer and have a diagnostic done. i have already had one done and the codes keep changing, and from what i have read the gm site and other forums gm does not know what the problem and will not recall it unless they have to, my brother is also a mechanic and had it looked over by our college mechanic shop.still no relief, i am not willing to spend $5000 and it still not fixed.. so i guess since something like it is recalled and i get into an accident because it reduces power on the interstate doing 75mpg, ill can to take legal action? i can't drive it half the time because of the problem. in the summer it starts with reduced power because its 90 degrees outside. | |||

| While driving our 2005 yukon xl 2500 series vehicle the service 4wd message will alert from time to time at which point the ability to continue in 2wd is not affected but the ability to transfer into 4wd hi or lo is eliminated. turning the car off then back on clears the error and systems are again operable. this was fixed before under warranty but the problem still occurs without warning. problem has occurred in excess of six times over the past two years since purchasing the vehicle new. | |||
