TIRES | |||

We experienced two titan tire blowouts on a camping trailer in separate events. tires involved were titan radial st ii 225/75/r 15 dot aahh mt2 0605 & aahh mt2 1205 manufactured by tiajin in china. the tires were only 9 months old and had less than 5000 miles. we felt we were informed consumers when we chose these tires as they are load range e which is up a class from what was previously on the trailer. we store our trailer indoors when not in use, check tire pressures regularly and were well within the weight rating for the tires. the first blowout occurred at 9 pm at night and damaged our water lines and the siding on that side of the trailer. the second blowout was on the same trip but on the way home at 4pm on sunday. it damaged the siding and skirting on the opposite side of the trailer. we used our spare (purchased at the same time) for the first replacement, but had to limp on three tires to a truck stop and use a truck tire that was the right size but wrong load range to get to a tire store that sold trailer tires. this resulted in an unplanned overnight stay and we purchased two trailer tires the following day. we returned the defective tires to our dealer who was able to get us a partial refund for the purchase price of the tires but no reimbursement for our damages to our trailer or any other expenses we incurred as a result of the two blowouts. the estimate to repair our trailer is $1050. *nm |
