| Heard of related failures and inspected mine. found cracks in the weld and contacted suzuki, they were willing to replace it (out of warrenty) but not with the steal one that they replaced on the 2003 motorcycle and up. im concerned that this might happen aging. | |||

| It has been a growing concern of haybusa owners that the rear subframe of 1999/2000 model years is made of aluminum and has a history of failure. suzuki has recalled those in the uk but refuse to do so in the us they are now made of steel starting with year 2001. but those of us with the aluminum subframes are stuck with no recourse since suzuki refuses to admit there is a problem with the design so hayabusa owners are turning to you to see if you can get them to replace them before ours fail too. thanks for your time sincerely craig forcht. *ak | |||

| Since the release of the suzuki hayabusa, there has been a small trickle of reported subframe failures. most of the time, the owner can safely stop the machine. there have been at least three reported incidents of injury due to the failure. have such a major component of a motorcycle fail as the subframe assembly. there is evidence from a european report that tested sub-frames (independent tests, not from suzuki ) show that there are definite quality/strength issues with the frame. i would appreciate some sort of report from suzuki or yourselves showing that my machine is safe to be operated (completely stock) as is.*ak | |||

| I purchased this vehicle new in good faith. there have been numerous reports of subframe failures all over the globe and american suzuki has done nothing to resolve this issue. i am afraid to ride my motorcycle for fear that the subframe may fail and cause me to lose control or cause my passenger to fall off of motorcycle at cruising speed. a recall was done on this model of motorcycle in the uk however, no such recall has been done in the us where the majority of the bikes have been sold. suzuki knows that there is a problem because they upgraded the subframe to steel after the 2000 model. please help to resolve this issue by having suzuki recall these vehicles and install steel subframes so that everyone can be safe just like the riders in the uk. thank you. *ak | |||

| It is widly known that suzuki has been ignoring the fact that the rear subframe welds are weak on it 99 and 2000 hayabusa's. it needs to be realled and have the new subframe installed that they used on the 2001 and newer bikes. suzuki has agreed to do mine under a silent recall, but there are numerous people out there that will die from this accident if it breaks on them. | |||

| The rear subframe (where the pass sits have been breaking at the weld joints on the aluminum subframe . the uk has already made suzuki replace them over there i am very concerned because my wife rides alot with me and if this subframe breaks off she goes . also the 2001and 2002 have an updated steel subframe thanks tim rivette | |||

| My subframe has not yet failed, but on the suzuki hayabusa .org website we (3000 members) have been following failures in the u.s. and around the world for the past two years. there have been many, causing the seat and rider to contact the rear wheel and crash. suzuki made the aluminum subframe assembly in 99 and 2000 and changed to steel for the 2001 and 2002 models. they will not issue a recall. the welds and porosity of the aluminum are faulty. engineering studies have been conducted in great brittan and confirm this. we are worried about our safety and our passengers safety. nlm | |||
