Defect SummaryOn certain motor homes built on prevost chassis, the steering gear box is mounted on a support located under the driver's seat floor. on motor home models, this support varies in height with the optional interior height. with 83 and 86 inch height options, the support may be overloaded in certain operation conditions.
Consequence SummaryA continuously fully loaded vehicle that has to maneuver in tight space frequently can develop stress cracks at the steering gear box support. a loss of control could occur, increasing the risk of a crash.

 Tl*the contact owns a 1999 country coach intrigue (na). while driving approximately 65 mph in dry conditions, the front driver side tire blew out. the tire blew with such force that it shattered the driver side window and the vehicle crashed into the guard rail. there were no injuries. this is the second time that the rear tires have been replaced due to recall number 06v262000 (tires). the tires are toyo m10 z, size 275/70r 22.5. the engine size was unknown. the current and failure mileages were 52,000.
