Defect SummaryWinnebago is recalling certain model year 2006 through 2011 winnebago view and itasca navion motor homes because the dinette area seat belt restraints on those vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 210, seat belt assembly anchorages. in a collision, the generated crash forces can cause the restraint's attachment to tear and allow the anchor to separate from the body of the vehicle.
Consequence SummaryIf the restraint separates from the vehicle during a crash, the belt will not properly restrain the seat occupant, increasing the risk of injury or death to the occupant.
Corrective SummaryWinnebago has not yet provided a remedy and an owner notification schedule for this campaign. owners may contact winnebago at 1-800-537-1885.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING - ENGINE

I have a 2007 winnebago view 23b motorhome, with the 2006 model year dodge sprinter 3500 chassis. there is a part called the turbo-resonator that serves as a baffle for the turbo whine on this engine. we are currently on our 3rd turbo resonator with less than 13,000 miles driven. when the resonator cracks, the engine goes into limp mode and the vehicle immediately slows to under 40 mph. both times this has happened while traveling at highway speeds in traffic. both times we have been stranded while waiting for a dealer to have the part available for us. the last occurrence resulted in a decelleration from 65mph to 30mph on a slight grade while leaving henderson nv. the speed limit was 75mph and the traffic was heavy. several large trucks had to make emergency maneuvers as we tried to exit to the debris strewn shoulder. all the while, my kids are in the vehicle with us. the part was replaced again from the dealer with the same cheap plastic part that is known to fail. the parts actually stock the part due to the frequency of the failure.

On my first trip after purchasing a 2007 winnebago view, the turbo resonator failed at a plastic to plastic seam and the vehicle lost power while on a freeway grade. top speed attainable was 35 mph on the freeway going downhill-uphill was 20 mph. vehicle had 1200 miles and was represented as new by the dealership with the miles a result of moving it from one state to another between dealerships. the part was replaced with another plastic part under warranty. the old part was not given to me. *tr
